Enrolment process

Year levels

Morialta Secondary College opened in 2023 to students entering year 7.  The college will progress and grow each year with the addition of one year level at a time. We look forward to enrolling students entering year 7 in 2024. Indicated below is our progression to a full cohort of students from years 7 to 12 in 2028.

Enrolment eligibility

To ensure that Morialta Secondary College opens with a sustainable enrolment cohort, applications will be considered in line with the enrolment criteria in the school’s capacity management plan (CMP).

Applications will be prioritised from students who meet the enrolment eligibility outlined below, as detailed in our capacity management plan:

  • the child is living in the Morialta Secondary College zone
  • the child identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander through the Enter for Success strategy
  • the child has been granted enrolment due to special or extenuating circumstances, including but not limited to a child in care where there is a custody or guardianship order made under the Children and Young People (Safety) Act 2017.

Out of zone enrolment applications will be considered through the statewide transition process.

Registration of interest and enrolments

Families with students currently in year 6 who would like to enrol their child at Morialta Secondary College for year 7 must apply through the Department for Education’s State-wide transition process.

Distribution of the parent booklet, ‘Starting Secondary School in 2024’ and information for registering interest for secondary school will occur via your child’s government primary school. The registration of interest starts on Monday 29 April and closes on Friday 24 May 2024.

For families with a child currently at a non-government primary school, the application information is available via the Department for Education’s website, you can email Education.StartingSecondarySchool@sa.gov.au or you can access a hard copy form and brochure from the college (available in May).

Enrolment Offers

Families will receive enrolment offers from Wednesday 7 August to Friday 9 August 2024 via email as part of the statewide transition process.

All other enrolments

Families expressing an interest in enrolling their child at Morialta Secondary College for year 7 & 8 in 2024, or for a student enrolling outside of the state-wide transition process, can apply directly to the college by completing our online enrolment Expression of Interest form.
